The main 3 types of the flute are the standard, piccolo and harmony flutes. The flute isn't hard to learn — like all the instruments, it just takes some practice. Many girls choose the flute, but boys can also play the flute.
Flutes were used by the Sumerians and Egyptians thousands of years ago. Some ancient Egyptian flutes have survived, preserved in tombs by the arid desert climate. Indian classical Bansuri is one of the oldest musical instruments of India.
Lord Krishna played Bansuri flute while he was accompanied by Gopis and surrounded by cows. It is an absolute joy to learn this amazing instrument. Path of Music College was founded in 1996 with the vision of providing a platform to learn the pure form of Indian classical Bansuri music to aspirants around the world.
In our College, hundreds of students have learnt the basics of Bansuri and many of them are continuing their advanced learning in our College for many years. Bansuri Flute Classes Online Banaras Gharana. In our College, we learn Indian classical Bansuri music in the tradition of Banaras Gharana.
The Benares tabla gharana was developed a little over 200 years ago by Pandit Ram Sahai (1780–1826). At the age of nine, Ram moved to Lucknow to become a disciple of Makkhu Khan of the Lucknow gharana. In our Gharana, importance is given to purity and serenity of the ragas and the belief that Ragas are sung and played for one’s own happiness and self-elevation.
The concert flute is the instrument of choice for beginners. Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia: Hariprasad Chaurasia is an Indian music director and classical flautist, who plays the Bansuri, an Indian bamboo flute, in the Hindustani classical tradition. He is known internationally as the greatest living master of the Bansuri.
